March 2025, fully virtual

 FAQs

  • The California Adoption Conference is a biennial, two-day virtual event featuring live talks and workshops for adoptive, foster and kinship care families, adult adoptees and former foster youth, first/birth parents, and adoption professionals.

  • Each day the conference begins with a morning keynote presentation, followed by a variety of concurrent workshops that delve deeper into topics such as open adoption, transracial adoption, attachment, and searching for first/birth family, along with panels featuring birth/first parents and adopted adults.

  • All sessions are open to all conference participants. You can choose which sessions best suit your needs and interests. Each year conference planners list suggested workshops for professional development, adoptive parents, foster/resource parents, first/birth parents, adoptees and others.

  • When online registration is open, you can register on this website for one or both days; you can attend any sessions on the day(s) for which you register. You will also have access to recordings of all the sessions held on the day(s) for which you register. After completing your registration and paying the conference fee, you will receive an email closer to the event with detailed instructions for participating in this fully virtual event.

  • A limited number of scholarships are available to those who qualify. Priority will be given to individuals who might not be able to attend without financial assistance, as well as adoptees and first parents.

  • CE credit is available for select workshops and both keynote addresses. CE credits for eligible courses presented at the California Adoption Conference are provided by Pact, an Adoption Alliance. Pact (131157) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor Continuing Education for LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, and LEP (62361). The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) recognizes CAMFT Continuing Education credit for license renewal. Pact maintains responsibility for this program and its content. For CE-specific correspondence or information, please contact cac@pactadopt.org.
